Dr. Mustafa Mastoor, Minister of Economy met with Mr. Peter Nateillo the new Mission Director of USAID for Afghanistan.
Minister Mastoor appreciated USAID’s valuable support to all sectors and stressed on continuation of these assistance in economic sector particularly in the post peace phase.

He also provided necessary information on MoEC’s vision and new initiatives that focus on domestic production, private sector development and women economic empowerment to boost economic growth, reduce poverty, and create job opportunities.

Mr. Peter Nateillo concurred on the importance of ministry’s vision and the impact of these initiatives on improvement of the economic status and reaffirmed USAID’s support for Afghanistan and MoEC’s new initiatives.
It was also agreed that technical teams of both side will work together on how to incorporate these initiatives into projects and programs.
